Juke / Footwork / Trap

Recently at the Fusion Festival I found myself dancing to some very familiar sounding beats, called Juke or Footwork presented by DJ Slick Shoota from Norway.  Back in the days (1994?) we call it Ghetto Tech and it was released on labels like: DanceMancia  / Traxx Record (Chicago)  The quality of these Dance Mania vinyls was crap.. mostly… So now that this style is coming back, mostly digital, the tracks are back in much better quality ! Diplo brought it back already some years ago but now it seems, that it has reached some more people. Faux No – Velma Kelly (Slick Shoota remix): The vocals are mostly about tittys and asses and i can see already the “sexisitsche kackscheisse” shitstorm coming up, but hei..it’s so over, its just funny. Yep! So calm down and move your feet 🙂 But, it gets boring after a while, so I guess its much better, if you mix it to other styles, old jungle etc… Gonna try this next time I’m DJing..The best mix I heard so far cam from Justas Fresh, the guy behind Monday Jazzbut unfortunately this was not recorded.. Here are some mixes: via: KraftfuttermischwerkMike Paradinas AKA µ-Ziq

Mike Paradinas Footwork Mix 4 by Mike Paradinas (A.K.A. Μ-Ziq) on Mixcloud

and than there is the other kind of “new” genre (at least to me) its called TRAP (check the Urban Dictionary) and it is made of Beatz with very slow mo vocals (off course also ass n titties stuff :-)) , claps and high hats and most of the time a very know sample is coming in, like here the Twin Peaks Theme:
