I had the great pleasure to work with Rafele Estefania from BBC worldwide for an episode of the Global Beats Show from Berlin as presenter + co-curator.

When it comes to music, Berlin has such a variety of genres and our aim was, to present artists with a unique style which is pretty much influenced from the City.
We have choosen artists like female rapper Sookee or Großstadtgeflüster but also Oum Shatt, Perera Elsewhere, Nisse (who recently moved here) Judith Holofernes and Fetsum, organizer of the great Peace By Peace Festival in Berlin.

With Sookee we recorded a brand new song, an answer to homophobic German rapper Bushido which will be released soon.

I’m also quite happy, that we managed to show also the problematic side of nowadays Berlin, which was kinda new for my collegue who is living in spain.

Rafaele Estefania, the host of the show came to Berlin and we started out adventure:

Brilliant weather on sunday at Waldbühne at the PXP Festival, where we had a chance to talk to FETSUM and Grosstadtgeflüster

The next day, Judith Holofernes invited us to here studio

Than we headed all the way out of Berlin to Funkhaus Berlin (Nalepastrasse) where we recorded the interview with Nisse at the Funkhaus Studio

Rafael trying to get in touch with a spaceship? 🙂

Funkhaus Berlin is a great location but a bit far outside. There is one (1) connection with the tram with a frequency of 3 times in an hour. We tried to call a cab but without luck (it was 4:00 PM in the afternoon). So I asked Rafael if he is up for an adventure and we hitchhiked to Ostkreuz. (2nd car stopped and brought us back to the city) to arrive right in time at Perera Elsewhere’s studio:

Day 3 of our interview tour leds us to Weißensee, where we met Jonas from Oum Shatt
