One of the apps which I use on a daily base already since a very long time, is this one: DILO. It is an application to lookup German <-> English, German <-> French, German <-> Spanish and German <-> Turkish words in public dictionaries to get a translation in the other language, respectively –> It is perfects for looking up words “on the fly”, when you read or write an article. It comes for free and I couldn’t find a proper website for it. Here you go –> (DL Link) Thank you Imdat Solak!

Nice to see that Dilo found its way to this blog as well. I’m too lazy to setup a website, to be honest (there used to be one, but with a HD crash, it was gone). Also, since the app is so self-explanatory, there is not much to explain anyway.
Enjoy and do let me know if there is any problem with it or if you have any suggestions.
Imdat (yes, the real one 🙂
Hi Imdat, thank you for your response to this article! Quite surprising 🙂 Great to get a response from the inventor of this truly helpful tool Its the little things sometimes, right? Do you have to update it from time to time?
Greetings from Berlin!
barbnerdy: Yes, from time to time, it needs a small update because the sources I use for translation keep changing their syntax from time to time.
But no worries, I’ll keep it alive as long as there are users (and I use it quite often, too 🙂
